Updates have been on my mind recently but I keep struggling to find the words to make the stage we are at exciting - it's actually quite hard work! This bulletin is prompted by friend of the Squirrel, Dave, who pointed out we have been keeping our cards a little too close to our chests!
Rudy is almost back up to speed with his guitar playing (what a relief!) and we are grabbing every opportunity we have to make up for lost time and all getting together rehearsing and recording a minimum of 2 evenings a week which is hard to fit in sometimes but we are being strict with ourselves.
We have definitely turned a corner and found ourselves on a more downhill stretch (good thing - less peddling) I think as a result of the enforced layoff and whilst we have started to whittle down the over 3 hours of music (you heard that right) we have demoed into something normal human ears can withstand and hope to be actually laying down the final tracks soon(ish - it's all relative!)
If I were to describe it in terms of baking we have made the mix and the oven is just about up to temperature and we're covered in flour and one of us is screaming on the floor and will have to be sent to his room and the doorbell's just gone and we're opening it wondering what we've forgotten we've ordered from Amazon but it turns out to be Jehovah's Witnesses.
In other news we finally shipped out the T-Shirts. I would post a picture of one but Alan won't send me one. (He'll send me one now I've cleverly publicly shamed him. It never fails.)
Oh, and our video for And the People Say has been nominated for a gong in the Stroud Community Tv awards! We'll be attending the ceremony next week and becoming progressively tired and emotional as the evening wears on. If we win Rudy will personally see to it that no-one remains un-hugged.
